Section 1
General Guidelines
1.1 — Use of modifications
Any hacked/cheat client, program, or modification that gives you an advantage over other players is not allowed.
Not allowed:
- Resource packs that reveal blocks/ores (x-ray) beyond the default Minecraft resource pack.
- Mods or map modifications (e.g. mini-maps) that show caves, ores, or players beyond what our live map (BlueMap) shows.
- Cheat clients or mods giving unfair advantages — combat hacks, fly, auto-building (e.g. Litematica with printer), Schematica.
- Autoclicking in any form, including F3+T or other creative workarounds.
- Duping in any way.
- Cheating to gain mcMMO levels — any AFK or non-manual method.
Allowed:
- Optifine, performance mods, and aesthetic mods (resource packs, shaders).
- Distant Horizons, BobbyMod.
- Fullbright.
- Mini-maps that don't show more than our live map already provides.
- EasyPlace with Litematica.
- Freecam for screenshots and video (fair play only).
1.2 — Alternate accounts
- One Minecraft account per person. Alt accounts are prohibited, as is using someone else's account.
- If multiple people share a household or you want to switch your main account, open a ticket in our Discord in advance for an exception.
- Believe you were banned incorrectly for alting? Open a ticket to request a review.
Abusive use of alternate accounts can lead to a permanent ban of all related accounts.
1.3 — Circumventing punishment
- Avoiding or bypassing a punishment is not allowed. Circumventing with alt accounts may ban all related accounts.
- Using server chat while muted or banned is not permitted.
1.4 — Knowingly assisting in rule breaking / exploiting bugs
- Assisting, participating in, or benefiting from another player breaking the rules may be treated as if you committed the act yourself.
- Discovered an exploit, glitch, or bug? Report it immediately — any gain, even accidental, must be disclosed. Punishment scales with severity if you don't.
- Coordinating or manipulating the bounty system for personal or shared gain (e.g. arranging to be killed to collect your own bounty) is not allowed.
1.5 — Disruption of services
- Intentionally lagging the server, interfering with staff operations, DOS/DDOS attacks, or spamming/flooding support tickets is not allowed and is punished by severity.
- Severe disruption (DDOS) will be reported to the proper authorities.
- Mass-spawning entities (boats, minecarts, dropped items) is not allowed — offending entities will be automatically despawned.
1.6 — Personal information
Sharing another player's personal information (doxxing) is never allowed — full names, real-life photos/videos, phone numbers, social profiles, contact details, or home/school/work locations. Using or threatening to use someone's personal information is strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
1.7 — Sale of items
Selling, renting, trading, or offering in-game items or services to other players for real-world money is not allowed.
1.8 — Farms and automatic contraptions
Ore farms (including gold) are not allowed. Performance-heavy redstone contraptions may be disabled or removed if they cause lag. Stasis chambers or any contraption that force-loads or keeps chunks loaded are not allowed.
1.9 — Mob farms & redstone farms
Mob farms, mob spawner farms, and redstone farms of any kind must be built underground — they are not allowed to be visible on the live map. Farms found on the surface or otherwise visible on the map may be removed without warning.
Section 2
User Behavior
2.1 — Sharing of media / advertising
- Shared media (links, text, Discord invites, videos/streams) must relate to ReignMC — town showcases, gameplay videos, and similar are fine.
- Posting malicious links or media in any form is not allowed.
- Advertising other servers, or encouraging players to leave ReignMC for another community (sharing IPs, Discord links, server names), is not allowed.
2.2 — Chat spam
Repeatedly and swiftly sending messages is not allowed — this includes all-caps spam, duplicated text, copypastas, excessive emojis, images, GIFs, links, or mass pings.
2.3 — Toxic behavior
- Harassment or bullying of players or staff — targeted insults, bypassing /ignore, repeated unprovoked killings, or excessive town camping.
- Repeated demands to staff or intentionally provoking a reaction. Concerns about staff must go through a support ticket, not public confrontation.
- Inciting violence or toxicity, or messages with considerable profanity.
2.4 — Unwanted behavior
Punishment varies with severity and history. Includes, but isn't limited to:
- Bypassing the chat filter.
- Discriminatory language or hate speech toward race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, or other identities.
- Encouraging self-harm or violence toward players.
- Nazism or extremist symbolism.
- Sexual content or other explicit topics that don't fit the server environment.
- Any inappropriate interaction toward another player.
This extends to builds, signs, banners, named items, books, usernames, nicknames, skins, and content referencing a banned player.
2.4.1 — Event disruption
Players may not intentionally disrupt server events — sounding horns, unauthorized PvP, throwing invisibility potions, or other disruptive behavior during a live event.
2.5 — Impersonation, defamation & disinformation
- Impersonating another player or staff member — through username, nickname, town/nation name, or skin — is not allowed. Impersonation causing real harm or disruption may lead to a permanent ban.
- Spreading false or misleading claims that damage a player's real-life reputation is not allowed, including baseless serious allegations in public chat. Legitimate concerns go through a ticket with evidence — false accusations will be punished.
- Fabricating or altering evidence, submitting intentionally false tickets, faking screenshots, or spreading false rumors about the server, staff, or community is not allowed.
2.6 — Chat
English is required in global chat. Other languages are fine in town chat, nation chat, or private messages.
Section 3
Towny
3.1 — Town claims
- Towns may not block another town's expansion through claim placement (claim blocking) — staff determine these cases, and older claims generally take priority.
- Claims should expand in a roughly square or circular shape. Thin "claim arms" or spaghetti-shaped claims stretching in one direction aren't allowed unless a town genuinely has no other space to expand into — width alone doesn't make a claim acceptable if it's mostly empty land used to block others.
- Towns may not leave pockets of unclaimed chunks inside their own borders (hollow/donut claiming).
3.2 — Proximity grief
- Griefing the wilderness next to a town is not allowed outside of an active war — staff may roll back damage. Towns near old ruins may request the surrounding area be restored.
- Resource gathering (e.g. sand) should happen no closer than 6 chunks from a town.
- Stealing from chests in the wilderness near a town is allowed.
3.3 — Extreme grief
Large-scale lava structures (lava casts, cobble monsters, lava/water curtains, craters) in the wilderness or within claims are not allowed, nor is griefing ice roads or minecart railways.
3.3b — Firing explosive or incendiary projectiles into towns (fireballs, fire charges, TNT cannons, TNT minecarts) is forbidden outside of an active war.
3.4 — World modifications
Creating artificial islands is not allowed; extending an existing island may be permitted depending on size, at staff discretion. Removing or majorly altering crafted landmarks of Aegrath — draining rivers or lakes, large-scale terraforming of the nine continents — is not allowed, to preserve the map as it was built.
3.5 — Spawn trapping or killing
- Trapping or killing players within a town or nation's spawn chunk and the one-chunk radius around it (lava, drop pits, toggling PvP) is not allowed — this excludes wilderness chunks. PvP cannot be enabled in that radius outside of an arena or wilderness.
- Preventing players from teleporting out of a town (e.g. wither rose traps) is not allowed anywhere within the town.
- New players are protected for their first 10 hours of playtime — you cannot attack a player under 10 hours of playtime unless they've started a war themselves.
Allowed:
- Kills within the radius if the player was already combat-tagged outside it.
- Kills within a PvP arena (no item drops).
- Traps outside the radius or in the wilderness, as long as they don't block teleportation out.
- Kills in the wilderness, and kills on players already outlawed.
Gear and items are not always refunded by staff, to prevent duplication exploits. Non-arena PvP plots may not border arena plots.
3.6 — Portal trapping
Blocking a portal to trap a player's inventory or chat access is not allowed — leave at least one open block next to every portal.
3.7 — Map art
Map art may not contain sexual imagery or anything that breaks Section 2. Canvases can be placed anywhere on Aegrath. Re-selling signed art of active players requires their permission; art from players inactive 60+ days may be freely resold or copied.
3.8 — Stealing / insiding / raiding / scamming
Mayors are responsible for managing town permissions. Stealing and scamming between players are allowed on the server. Insiding — griefing or stealing by a player who was given trust within a town — may have builds rolled back, but chests/items will not be restored.
Mayors stealing from their own residents or embassies is unethical but not staff-enforced — expect it to cost trust, residents, and your town's reputation.
3.9 — Sniping
Joining an about-to-fall town or nation purely to loot or inherit it, without genuine intent to settle and maintain it, is not allowed. If you intend to permanently rebuild and maintain it, open a ticket in advance for an exception — staff will monitor to confirm genuine settlement.
3.10 — Town autonomy & war diplomacy
- It is up to each town's mayor to set additional rules for their own town — staff won't intervene in internal town policy as long as it doesn't violate the server rules above.
- If another town or nation declares war on yours, you're not on your own — you can negotiate directly with them, ask nearby towns or nations for help, or form a formal alliance before or during the conflict.
Section 4
Naming
4.1 — Nation names
Nation names should fit the tone and lore of Aegrath. They must:
- Be written in English characters (no accents or special symbols).
- Not violate Section 2.
- Be unique — not already in use by another town or nation.
- Avoid modern real-world brand names or out-of-setting references that break immersion.
Naming cases are decided by staff. Violations may result in a forced rename without refund, with harsher punishment for repeat offenses.
4.2 — Town names
Town names must not violate Section 2 — for example, "anti-(playername)" or "anti-(nation/town)" names are not tolerated, nor are names based on real-world political parties. Names must use English characters and be unique.
4.3 — Naming (general)
All named items and entities, usernames, titles, nicknames, and Discord accounts must comply with Section 2, including plot names and town cultures. Staff may rename or remove non-compliant names in addition to applying punishment.
Section 5
Shops
5.1 — Chest shops in the wilderness
ChestShops in the wilderness are not allowed and may be removed at any time.
5.2 — Shop traps or kills
Trapping or attempting to kill players within shop chunks is prohibited — shops must stay safe to trade in. PvP cannot be enabled in shop chunks. Gear and items are not always refunded, to prevent duplication.
Section 6
Tickets
6.1 — Ticket expectations
- Tickets must be submitted by the affected player, not a proxy, unless extraordinary circumstances apply.
- One ticket per issue. State your case clearly and include evidence — coordinates, video, or screenshots. Claims without evidence may not be resolvable.
- Don't ping staff unless asked to. Remain patient and respectful — staff are volunteers who prioritize urgent issues first.
- Toxic or abusive language toward staff may get your ticket closed without further reply.
- Fake claims or tickets made to get someone punished through exaggeration or retaliation may result in a ban.
- A ticket is required to dispute a claim or appeal a punishment.
6.2 — Appropriate use of the support Discord
Support channels are for support questions only — appeals must go through a ticket. Using modified Discord clients to access non-public ticket information is not permitted. Ticket contents are confidential and limited to those directly involved.
Section 7
Punishments
7.1 — Repeated offenses
Players who repeatedly break rules within a short window face escalating penalties. Warns expire 90 days after they're issued.
| Warns (same day) | Resulting action |
| 2 warns | 3-day temp ban |
| 3 warns | 1-day temp ban |
| 4 warns | 3-day temp ban |
| 5 warns | Permanent ban |
7.2 — Appeals
All appeals must be submitted by the punished player themselves, through a ticket.
7.3 — Banned players
Items from banned accounts cannot be transferred under any circumstances. A town or nation owned by a banned player may only transfer, at their request, to someone who was already a resident or trusted member before the ban.
Section 8
War & Raiding
- PvP is enabled outside of spawn and designated safe zones — Elysian is always neutral ground.
- Raiding requires an active, declared war against the target nation — raiding without one is treated as griefing under Section 3.
- Kill feeding — intentionally dying or arranging repeated deaths to manipulate war outcomes or bounties — is not allowed.
- Exploiting bugs or unintended mechanics to affect a war's outcome is not permitted.
This section covers standard declared-war raiding. If a dedicated siege plugin gets added later (siege towns, siege banners, revolt mechanics), this section will be expanded to match.
